California family trip

After six months, I returned to the United States with my family and revisited the house and park where we once lived. Perhaps because I was now a visitor, I felt more at ease and relaxed. My children will think of this place as home and cherish it as a fond memory in their hearts.

Cupertino House

We had a great time celebrating our second son’s 7th birthday at Benihana. The kids absolutely loved it!

Last year, I visited the Anderson Collection Museum of Contemporary Art, which opened at Stanford University. It’s said to be the largest donation in Stanford’s history, and the legacy of one individual, Anderson, has now become Silicon Valley’s largest museum of contemporary art. It can truly be called the result of remarkable entrepreneurship.

Mark Rothko

I finally got to visit the Stanford University golf course in front of the office after not being able to go even once in the past five years.

You’d need at least two acres to call it a house in the U.S. I visited a missionary couple in Morgan Hill. Their house was large, and they treated me to a delicious dinner made with vegetables grown right in their own garden. As we shared our vision for missions, time flew by in conversation. Hearing about their vision for Tanzania in Africa made me want to visit Kilimanjaro myself.

I’m staying one night at the Langham Hotel, which boasts the finest history in Pasadena. I stayed here before when I visited LA on business, and it’s wonderful to be here with my family.

We’re having a short but good time, and tomorrow we’ll head down to Torrance for worship.

Cornerstone Church

Visited the expanded Com2uS US office and took commemorative photos with former colleagues. It reaffirmed my belief that investing in people is the best investment, and I cheer on the successors to lead the company well. By the way, Mexican food is definitely best in LA. 🙂

Torrance Beach is always so relaxing and beautiful whenever I visit. It was a wonderful beach where people jogging along the shore, families enjoying the water, and visitors like us all blended together.

It’s been seven years since I last visited Universal Studios. I had brought my parents here before, and it was such a joy to return.

Fast & Furious

I’m savoring the experience of living like the wealthy in a mansion in Palos Verdes, California’s most exclusive neighborhood. Morning walks, consistent exercise, and a relaxed attitude toward life seem essential.

The large cross still standing tall atop the house on the hill seemed to symbolize America’s faith and conscience.

I visited Griffith Observatory briefly during my trip to LA. I’m leaving having enjoyed the LA night view more than the stars.

We visited Irvine and spent time with the family we worshipped with at Onnuri Church, and had a great time playing with the kids in Laguna Beach. It was crowded and bustling, as you’d expect from one of Southern California’s best beaches.

Laguna Beach

We drove five hours from LA to reach Pismo Beach. It’s one of our family’s favorite vacation spots—close to the beach and conveniently located halfway between LA and SF, making it a great place to stop and relax.

Seacrest Hotel

I visited the Golden Gate Bridge and also attended the Startup Demo Day event, where I met many promising Korean startups. After the official schedule ended, I met with many people I needed to see privately. On Saturday evening, I was treated to dinner at the home of an older university senior, and the children had a great time in the pool.

After three busy and joyful weeks, I am preparing to return to Songdo. Since I arrived in the U.S. on a Friday, I attended worship immediately upon arrival. Now, as my departure day is also a Sunday, I will attend Sunday worship before heading to the airport. I thank God for orchestrating all the schedules and meetings.
