During my business trip to Barcelona, I participated in a Gaudi sightseeing tour program where I heard extensive explanations about Gaudi. This provided me with a time for deep reflection not only on his genius but also on his profound faith. His designs were inspired by God’s creation of humanity and nature, and he specifically created the Familia Cathedral as a bright and luminous church where anyone could draw near to God. His achievements and devotion were so great that a figure modeled after him was placed at the Door of Suffering in the Familia Cathedral, and a nameplate was prepared where his name could be inscribed should he be venerated as a saint in later generations. What an incredible honor that would be. It was a time to reconnect with Gaudí, who lived a frugal life and inspired many people during his lifetime.
