While many agitated crowds gathered at Gwanghwamun to try to change history, our family spent a meaningful time preparing for a unified Republic of Korea by participating in the “Forest for North Korea” planting ceremony hosted by the startup Triple Planet. It was a meaningful event to plant trees in the landfill where Incheon Dream Park was built and send them to North Korea, but I learned that there are many environmental problems in the mountains of North Korea due to heavy logging.

We planted trees in the landfill to create a forest and save the polluted land, so I had a one-day experience with my family. I also taught my children how to plant trees and learned the importance of life through the experience of planting trees, so it was a very beneficial time. I hope that those trees will be planted in the north as a sign of hope, and I hope that we will be people who prepare for the future rather than dwell on the problems in front of us.
