Every summer vacation, churches hold Vacation Bible School (VBS). However, due to the unique circumstances of COVID-19 this year, many churches likely canceled VBS or couldn’t even plan it. Yet, Songdo LifeSpring Church launched an online VBS (probably the first in South Korea).

This VBS was conducted with teachers running the program live from the church, while children comfortably watched the video at home, following along with the dances and crafts. It was particularly impressive that VBS kits were either picked up in advance at the church or sent via courier, making the children curiously anticipate the contents inside the box. The thoughtful approach of giving them the mission “Do not open until the broadcast starts” to stimulate their curiosity and anticipation also stood out.

I hope this becomes another precious example of an entire family finding salvation through their child. After finishing deliveries today, I stopped by a friend’s house in Gimpo, and he made bagel sandwiches for me. It’s a heartwarming morning.
