Happiness Delivery

The Philosophy of Money

After discovering the joy of reading through audiobooks, encountering The Philosophy of Money became one of the most impactful events in my life. This book served as a life guide encompassing the nature of money and life philosophy. The passages where the author blended numerous quotations from sages and intellectuals with his own experiences and values were profoundly impressive. It was so fascinating that I even sought out and listened to lectures from the author’s time as a professor in the Business Administration Department at Hanshin University. I read it thoroughly twice. This year, while running a delivery business and managing asset allocation investments, it helped me clearly organize my thoughts—a truly valuable book. Particularly resonant was the point that money can provide the freedom to escape physical labor in old age. While everyone works hard in their youth, this book answered why some become building owners living comfortably off capital income, while others must rely solely on labor income until the end of their lives.

I once thought financial freedom was a dream reserved only for the wealthy, but this book showed me that such a life is achievable starting now. First cultivate the mindset and spirit of the wealthy; when you work with conviction, money naturally follows. I learned that the key to success isn’t waiting for luck to come, but transforming yourself to make luck possible. Establishing your own philosophy and practicing it relentlessly, living out the wisdom proven by countless sages—that is success. I believe that breathing the crisp dawn air while navigating dark alleys means providing breakfast for someone’s table, that delivering boxes stacked layer upon layer on a handcart means delivering happiness, and that loading goods onto terminal rails means contributing to a client’s success. This is the path to success as a delivery driver—in short, ‘Delivering Happiness’.

The value of the happiness I deliver returns converted into money. I gather that dust to cover living expenses, invest the rest to grow assets, and repeat this virtuous cycle. By diligently pursuing my work with joy and enthusiasm, a miracle occurred: within a year, I joined the ranks of ‘couriers earning over 100 million won annually’. I believe all these results—clients breaking monthly records, unexpected collection contracts—are answers to prayer as a person of faith.

I’ve learned that despite the widely known power of Jewish educational methods and habits, most people fail to change due to obstacles like stubbornness and pride. In contrast, wise wealthy individuals enjoy the sense of accomplishment from earning money through their talents more than the money itself, and they regard spending that money to bring joy to others as an art form. Recalling my experience helping a family achieve self-sufficiency during a Compassion Vision Trip to the Philippines, I reflect once more on the saying, “Earning money is a skill, but spending it is an art.” I intend to keep this book close and project my efforts onto the changing flow of money and business opportunities. I am confident that adding practice to the right philosophy will lead to a more successful life. I will move forward with this year’s keywords, ‘freedom’ and ‘confidence,’ engraved in my heart.

“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” (Ephesians 3:12)
