Happiness Delivery

Deliveryman in the highest office in Incheon

We relocated our office to ‘Stage9’ shared office space within POSCO Tower Songdo, Incheon’s tallest building and a regional landmark, in October 2022. While the LeHobot Songdo Bio Convergence Center in Songdo IBS Tower we previously used was excellent, it was a 4-person room, which felt somewhat excessive for solo use. In contrast, the new two-person office in POSCO Tower offers not only high space efficiency but also a stunning view overlooking Central Park, resulting in a very high level of satisfaction. POSCO Tower, standing 65 stories tall, was South Korea’s tallest skyscraper when completed in 2011. It is currently the fourth tallest building in the country, following the Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Busan’s LCT, and Yeouido’s Park One.

Located on the 26th floor, Stage Nine offers premium amenities that rival renowned shared office brands like WeWork, Fast Five, and Spark Plus. The office I contracted is right next to the large conference room. I secured it at a discounted rate because it was vacant, supposedly due to potential noise from meetings. For someone like me who frequently holds online meetings and primarily uses headphones while working, this turned out to be a prime location secured at a reasonable price. Enjoying lattes brewed fresh by a barista at 9 AM and 1 PM, along with access to the latest massage chairs and shower facilities, makes it ideal for balancing work and relaxation. Additionally, being able to utilize spaces at major locations across Seoul is extremely convenient for team meetings or partner company meetings.

The fact that I, who once worked as a delivery driver, now have an office in Incheon’s tallest landmark building is an astonishing change that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago. It feels like I’ve realized the dream of becoming a building owner, as if in a blockchain game. Sitting alone in the office, gazing out the window, the story of King Nebuchadnezzar from the Bible suddenly came to mind. The years spent crisscrossing delivery routes flashed before my eyes like a slideshow, and a smile crept onto my face. Glancing at the clock, I realized it was time to start the parcel collection shift. As I headed to Smart Valley, I resolved once more to approach my work with humility and a lowly heart.

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11)
