코엑스에서 개최한 메타버스엑스포 2023 전시회에 최초로 아고라 부스를 준비하여 참석했습니다. 전사적으로 모든 마케팅 비용을 줄이고 있는 상황에서 특별히 본사의 결정을 받고 참석한 전시회였고 담당자들이 출장을 와서 함께 준비한 행사라 의미가 있었습니다. 사전에 기획하고 준비를 철저히 하여 데모 영상과 현장 기술 데모, 그리고 저의 발표 일정까지 모든 것이 잘 운영되었습니다. 예상보다 정말 많은 분들이 오셔서 준비한 브로셔가 모두 동이 났고 급하게 사무실 프린터로 브로셔를 프린트하고 PDF 파일을 다운로드 받을 수 있는 QR 코드를 준비하여 무사히 방문객들을 응대할 수 있었습니다. 또한 부스 이외에 모든 집기 대여료는 바가지라서 당근마켓에서 42인치 TV를 5만원에 구매하고 쇼핑백과 티셔츠 제작 등을 모두 직접 준비하면서 비용도 절약하고 팀웍을 맞추었습니다.
We participated in the Metaverse Expo 2023 exhibition held at COEX, where we prepared and set up our first-ever Agora booth. This exhibition was particularly meaningful as it was the first event we attended after receiving special approval from headquarters to participate, despite the company-wide effort to reduce all marketing expenses. The event was well-organized, with thorough planning and preparation in advance, including demo videos, on-site technical demos, and my presentation schedule. Surprisingly, many more people attended than expected, and all the brochures we prepared ran out. We quickly printed more brochures using the office printer and prepared QR codes for downloading PDF files, allowing us to successfully accommodate all visitors. Additionally, since the rental fees for all equipment outside the booth were exorbitant, we purchased a 42-inch TV for 50,000 won on Carrot Market and handled the production of shopping bags and T-shirts ourselves, which helped us save costs and maintain teamwork.
첫날은 손님이 너무 많아서 김밥을 먹으면서 부스 운영을 했고 나머지 날에도 정말 많은 분들이 오셔서 아고라의 기술에 대한 관심을 확인할 수 있었습니다. 전시회를 마무리하며 준비했던 노래방 무선 마이크로 너스레를 떨며 엔딩 비디오를 찍고 부스를 철거했습니다. 새로 입사한 솔루션 아키텍트 에게도 본사 팀원을 만날 수 있었던 좋은 기회였고 회사에 대해 더 배울 수 있는 계기가 되었습니다. 때마침 코엑스의 다른 전시장에서 서울국제도서전이 열리고 있어서 저의 책을 출판할 예정인 휴먼큐브 출판사 부스에 방문하여 책도 사고 현장 분위기를 볼 수 있었습니다. 아고라의 또 하나의 마일스톤이 되었던 한 주였습니다.
On the first day, there were so many visitors that we had to eat kimbab while running the booth. On the remaining days, even more people came, allowing us to confirm the interest in Agora’s technology. As we wrapped up the exhibition, we filmed an ending video while joking around with the karaoke wireless microphone we had prepared, and then dismantled the booth. It was a great opportunity for the newly hired solution architect to meet the head office team members and learn more about the company. Coincidentally, the Seoul International Book Fair was taking place at another exhibition hall in COEX, so I visited the booth of Human Cube Publishing, the company planning to publish my book, where I purchased a copy and experienced the on-site atmosphere. It was a week that marked another milestone for Agora.
