The world beneath the rounded ceiling

Copernicus’s heliocentric theory is a historic theory that overturned humanity’s long-standing geocentric paradigm. This model—in which the Sun is at the center of the universe, the Earth orbits around it, and rotates on its own axis—is the foundation of modern science that we first encounter in our textbooks. Numerous astronomical achievements—from the development of astronomical telescopes to human spaceflight, the moon landing, and the recent exploration of Mars—have established modern cosmology as a solid truth. Recently, private companies such as SpaceX have been leading the era of space exploration, standing shoulder to shoulder with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Living on Earth—which is but a speck in the infinite universe—I, too, have often meditated with awe on the greatness of God, who created this vast cosmos that is almost beyond imagination. However, the order of creation recorded in the Book of Genesis—the creation of light, the separation of the waters, the land and plants, the sun and moon in the firmament, and finally animals and humans—did not easily align with modern science’s mechanisms of cosmic formation. For this reason, “theistic evolution”—which interprets creation as a symbolic narrative and accepts scientific evolution in order to bridge the gap between faith and science—once seemed like the most rational compromise.

While modern earth science defines the universe as a vast expanse of space and time, the Bible focuses on the functional roles of the sun and moon—which govern day and night—rather than directly describing infinite cosmic space in the modern sense. The physical distances of the sun—a burning star 150 million kilometers away—and the mysterious moon, which never reveals its far side to Earth, are concepts difficult to grasp with ordinary reason. Every morning, as I watched the sun rise, I had to convince myself that it was merely a visual illusion caused by the Earth’s rotation. In particular, while making early-morning deliveries, whenever I witnessed the massive sun rising above the horizon or saw rays of light radiating outward from between the clouds, I would feel a strange disconnect between theory and my actual experience. The perception instilled by modern cosmology—that “humans are beings smaller than dust in an infinite universe”—sometimes made me feel utterly worthless, leading to inner melancholy and a sense of futility that weighed heavily on me.

Then, I came across a video presenting an alternative cosmology that fundamentally challenges the modern cosmological paradigm, and it delivered an intellectual shock—as if thousands of scattered puzzle pieces had suddenly fallen into place. The so-called “Flat Earth” model—in which the Earth is covered by a massive dome-shaped canopy, with continents spread out flat around the North Pole and surrounded by a massive ice wall at the South Pole—initially made me laugh. However, as I confirmed that there is no historical record of any expedition having ever crossed the Antarctic continent from one end to the other, and that civilian exploration and access are strictly restricted under the Antarctic Treaty System, reasonable doubts began to take root. I attempted to refute these claims by searching for evidence of the Earth’s curvature using search engines, but my confusion only deepened as I encountered numerous physical phenomena and observational data that defy easy, clear explanations based on the common sense of modern science. Interestingly, the scholar who first proposed the “Big Bang Theory”—the foundation of modern cosmology—was Father Georges Lemaître, a member of the Catholic Society of Jesus, and as I delved into the historical context of the Jesuits—who, since their founding in the 16th century, have exerted a powerful influence on educational and ideological systems worldwide—I came to realize, from a macro perspective, that the view of the universe we have trusted might be a paradigm built upon a specific ideological foundation.

The physical evidence presented by alternative models is both intuitive and provocative. A classic example is the phenomenon where a ship that has disappeared beyond the horizon—which, if obscured by the Earth’s curvature, should never reappear—can be brought back into view using the optical zoom of modern high-magnification telescopes or cameras. This led me to conduct a comprehensive reexamination of airplane flight paths, the rotation of constellations, the laws of gravity, and photographs of Earth taken from space. In particular, when examining flight routes between continents in the Southern Hemisphere, it raises suspicion that airlines deliberately choose an irregular route via distant continents in the Northern Hemisphere, even though the shortest distance—given the Earth’s curvature—would pass through the South Pole. Rather than relying on the hypothetical force of universal gravitation, it is more intuitive to understand the world through natural physical laws—where heavy objects sink and light objects float—based on the inherent density and buoyancy of matter. Furthermore, the phenomenon of all stars in the night sky rotating in perfect concentric circles around the North Star aligns better with pilots’ actual altitude observations than the modern astronomical explanation that the Earth is hurtling through space at hundreds of kilometers per second—suggesting instead that the celestial sphere containing the stars is rotating. Finally, a detailed analysis of the color images of Earth provided by NASA reveals a technical limitation: these are not single-shot photographs but visually rendered images (CGI) that have been meticulously processed through data synthesis.

In contrast, the geometric explanation—that in the world created by God, there is water above the firmament and the sea below it, and that localized luminous bodies (the sun and moon) governing day and night within the firmament rotate and emit light over a flat surface with an electromagnetic foundation—came as a refreshing revelation. The mechanism by which the sun swirls and rotates slightly faster than the moon around the North Pole perfectly and quantitatively explains the changing phases of the moon every full moon and the seasonal changes resulting from the varying distance between the moon and the Earth’s surface. This is an area that can be proven through physical simulations using modern superconductors and magnetic field experiments, and the cycles of solar and lunar eclipses can also be interpreted through calculations of the orbits within the firmament. Furthermore, the phenomenon of “sonoluminescence”—in which light is emitted when high-frequency sound waves are applied to water—provides a remarkable scientific clue that the countless stars mentioned in the Bible are emitting light at their own unique frequencies from within the waters above the firmament. Ultimately, as proclaimed in Genesis 1:6, this world was the result of a precise design consisting of the firmament existing between the waters, the flat earth resting within it, and the luminaries prepared for humanity.

Looking back, archival footage from the 1960s—when humanity landed on the moon and communicated with Earth via real-time landline telephone calls despite the primitive level of aerospace technology at the time—reveals numerous technical flaws when viewed from today’s perspective. The American flag fluttering on the airless lunar surface, shadows extending in different directions despite a single light source, a lunar module ascending vertically without any propulsion flames or exhaust trails, and the fact that jumps in low gravity, when played back in fast motion, perfectly match normal human gait on Earth—these phenomena have long been the constant targets of rational skeptics. On independent media platforms such as “Rumble,” behind-the-scenes footage and exposé videos—presumed to have been filmed on sets in locations like the Nevada desert—are being shared. Furthermore, instances such as the capture of ghost images of the wire screens supporting astronauts’ bodies during live zero-gravity broadcasts from the International Space Station (ISS), or scenes of spacewalk training in NASA’s large water tank (NBL) environment being cross-edited with actual broadcast footage, reveal a facet of the image politics surrounding modern space exploration. According to conscientious testimonies from actual commercial airline pilots, altitude correction calculations based on the Earth’s curvature—necessary for long-haul flights or instrument landings—are not included in the manuals. Whatever the systemic purpose behind maintaining this massive paradigm may be, humanity may have been trapped within a vast mainstream ideological framework for a very long time.

As I gradually uncovered the hidden truths, one by one, based on countless reasonable doubts and objective evidence, I was reminded of the final scene from the movie *The Truman Show*. Just as the protagonist—having realized that the peaceful town where he lived was a massive film set—reached the edge of the world and finally opened the door to the fake sky to escape with those confident strides, I, too, wish to break free from the elementary disciplines and frameworks defined by the world and enjoy the true freedom prepared by the Creator. To explore the essence of things rather than settle for information handed down by convention, I wake up at 4:30 a.m. again today to record my journey toward truth on my blog and start the day with vigor.
