Trump’s reciprocal tariff policy is reshaping the global economic order. The United States, the world’s largest consumer market and home to the most innovative companies, is adjusting tariff rates globally to attract investment into the US. To facilitate the transition to the AI era, it is expanding domestic production facilities and enabling companies that invest in the US to avoid tariffs and grow their businesses there. Simultaneously, it has imposed staggering tariffs of up to 254% on China, effectively collapsing China’s industries exporting to the US.
This might be mistaken for global economic chaos caused by the Trump administration’s sudden tariff policies, but it is actually the process of normalizing global inflation triggered by the astronomical quantitative easing of dollars under the previous Biden administration. Recently, stable oil prices have actually kept the U.S. inflation rate low relative to its benchmark interest rate. While tech stocks, overheated by Trump’s tariffs, temporarily dipped, the stock and bond markets are returning to normal when viewed over the long term. This is evident from where capital is flowing and how agile investors are already buying U.S. stocks at bargain prices through dollar-cost averaging.
Domestic media outlets, either left-leaning or catering to major shareholders, have either concealed these facts or pretended ignorance. They divert public attention to irrelevant matters or stir up pointless political squabbles to chase view counts. Particularly with the by-election less than two months away, they are wasting energy on mudslinging between candidates during primaries and trivial issues. Instead, major media outlets failed to report on the opposition leader facing criminal allegations, investigations into election fraud suspicions, or the peaceful weekend protests by the 2030 generation. This seemed to indicate they had lost sight of their fundamental duty as the public’s eyes and ears. The legislative and judicial branches have already been seized by anti-state forces, and it has become clear that pro-China politicians within the conservative party are effectively part of the same faction. Yet, the majority of the media, bought off by them, refuses to speak the truth. And most citizens, busy with their livelihoods, do not seek the truth. They remain silent to avoid discomfort from colleagues or acquaintances over political talk.
South Korea is navigating its darkest period in history, facing a crisis where the national system could be overthrown. Yet God’s work is quietly unfolding, and individuals, primarily Christians, are awakening two by two. Although most of South Korea is left-leaning or compromises with falsehoods to cling to their vested interests, I have come to understand that the small number of awakened Christians striving for truth, like salt comprising 3.5% of the sea, prevent South Korea from rotting. Especially as we celebrate Easter, meditating on Jesus who conquered death and triumphed two thousand years ago, I believe an amazing miracle will occur in South Korea too. Because just as the power of truth grows stronger over time and more people come to believe in the fact of the resurrection, so too in South Korea, the number of people awakening to the truth is gradually increasing. It’s just that the anti-state forces don’t want us to know the truth that they have already been defeated, and they try to prevent us from uniting.
As heard in the Sunday sermon, it resembles the situation after the American Civil War when, even after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, slaves in the South remained unaware of their liberation. I support President Trump’s Christian-friendly policies that are restoring international order. While investing my time in the American market transitioning into the new AI era, I am sharing this truth with those around me. And on Easter morning, I praised God watching over us from the vaulted ceiling of the firmament and resolved to stand with Jesus, who has already won the victory. So today too, gazing at the sun suspended within the firmament, I understood the marvelous secret of God’s creation, recorded that awe and joy in my blog, and began the day with vigor.
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
