While reading *The Real Anthony Fauci*, a book written by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.—a former U.S. Department of Health and Human Services official and member of the Kennedy family—I finally gained a clear understanding of the doubts that permeated society and the hidden realities behind the opaque public health policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the book’s title bluntly suggests, this work scathingly exposes the actions of Dr. Anthony Fauci—who effectively led global public health policies at the time—and, based on extensive documentation, reveals the policy failures of major global pharmaceutical corporations, large foundations that reaped massive commercial profits behind the scenes, and government officials in various countries who colluded with them.
The author emphasizes that in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, symptoms could have been alleviated and the fatality rate reduced simply through alternative drug prescriptions and existing, proven treatments. However, he meticulously points out the reckless behavior of public health authorities—driven by the pursuit of monopolistic profits by big pharmaceutical companies—who pushed to introduce new mRNA vaccines to the market despite their extremely short validation periods. In the early stages of past global pandemics, theories such as the “Wuhan lab leak” regarding the virus’s origin were often dismissed as mere conspiracy theories or political rhetoric. However, even a glance at cases where such possibilities were later seriously raised by official institutions—including the U.S. White House—and intelligence agencies shows just how one-sided the prevailing public opinion was at the time.
Furthermore, the author points out that the mandatory, one-size-fits-all mask policy—whose effectiveness in curbing the spread of the virus remained controversial—and the public health system of the time, which failed to provide sophisticated protection, isolation, and treatment for the elderly (who are most vulnerable to respiratory diseases) and instead crowded them into group facilities, thereby exacerbating the harm, were utterly irrational. Some critics argue that the blanket mandate for mask-wearing acted as a means of control that stifled individual autonomy and psychologically blocked social communication and solidarity. Indeed, witnessing the surge in severe, unexplained illnesses and cases of weakened immunity around us, one cannot help but harbor deep, rational doubts about the potential side effects of vaccines that were hastily introduced at the time without sufficient long-term safety verification.
Ultimately, the author’s central argument is that the pandemic dragged on under the powerful influence and lobbying of specific pharmaceutical interests, as well as the unilateral control of state power—all while thoroughly excluding existing, widely used pharmacological alternatives such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. As fear swept across the globe, governments around the world competitively rolled out mRNA vaccines—for which sufficient clinical data had not yet been accumulated—spending astronomical amounts of national budgets in the process. During this time, those who questioned public health guidelines or expressed caution regarding vaccination were often stigmatized as heretics threatening the safety of the community and subjected to social isolation. We come to realize that the indiscriminate disclosure of people’s movements, QR code-based contact tracing, and one-size-fits-all social distancing measures implemented domestically were closer to administratively convenient and irrational over-regulation than to scientifically effective measures.
The most heartbreaking aspect is the violation of religious values. The fact that harshly strict standards were applied exclusively to in-person worship services and gatherings at Christian churches—in contrast to public transportation, essential public facilities, and other cultural and commercial venues—resulting in tens of thousands of churches being forced to close, will go down in history as a painful example of how politics can infringe upon the very essence of “freedom of religion” guaranteed by the Constitution. Furthermore, as it has come to light that a significant number of global leaders were actually reluctant to get vaccinated themselves, this series of events has reinforced my conviction that this is yet another systemic contradiction—one born not of concern for humanity’s health and well-being, but rather of a collusion between big capital and the distorted logic of certain bought-off academic circles. In contrast to Pfizer’s CEO celebrating the success of vaccine development in his book *Moonshot*, a dark shadow was cast over the process by opaque clinical trials targeting residents of vulnerable regions, such as Africa, and the rushed development process.
These uncomfortable truths were not easily brought to public attention due to the thorough disregard of the mainstream media (legacy media) and the framing of these issues as conspiracy theories; however, their true nature is gradually coming to light through alternative, independent personal media platforms, including “X” (formerly Twitter). As time passes and the number of people suffering from unexpected side effects and deteriorating health continues to rise, the public is beginning to wake up to the reality, and doctors and scientists who upheld their scholarly conscience despite facing isolation during the pandemic are finally being reevaluated. I, too, stand on the side of truth and justice. Today, I quietly pick up my pen once again to alert those around me to this massive systemic danger and to fulfill my mission as a witness of our times through this blog, a space for documentation.
