Upon hearing the dramatic news early this New Year that President Maduro—who had been ruling from faraway Venezuela amid controversy over his legitimacy in the international community—had been arrested and taken into custody through a sudden U.S. special operation, I felt a sense of liberation, as if a weight had been lifted from the depths of my heart. This was a decisive moment in the campaign of pressure against Venezuela that had been ongoing since the last regular liturgical season. Hearing intelligence reports that, until just a short time ago, he had been enjoying banquets with foreign diplomatic envoys, the passage from the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament—where King Belshazzar gathered his nobles to hold a grand banquet—flew through my mind. King Belshazzar, unaware that the Persian army had advanced right up to his doorstep and that his kingdom was on the verge of falling, committed the sacrilege of drinking wine from the sacred vessels looted from the Temple in Jerusalem. The next day, as I watched the people of Venezuela rush into the streets cheering, dancing, and rejoicing upon hearing the news of the political upheaval, I sensed intuitively that the dawn of true freedom had finally broken over that land. As usual, some biased domestic media outlets poured out critical reports, labeling this situation a hegemonic move aimed at securing resources. However, upon hearing that behind the scenes, a coalition of international allies was neutralizing the influence of global technology companies—and their affiliated facilities—suspected of undermining the integrity of the electoral system, I felt a sense of relief, knowing that no matter how loud the cries of incitement may be, many citizens of South Korea are now awake enough to discern the truth. To commemorate this joyful news and this historic moment in which God’s justice is being realized, I attended early morning prayer today to offer deep thanks to God and earnestly prayed that the cartel that has long distorted sovereignty in South Korea will soon be fully brought to justice.
What struck me even more profoundly was that the top leadership of the United States issued a firm warning through official social media and communication channels, accompanied by a symbolic photo showing a panoramic view of Gimhae International Airport in South Korea. As always, he was shaking up the opposing camp in his own unique way to lead larger, macro-level negotiations, clearly demonstrating his formidable strategic acumen—hidden beneath his characteristic wit and humor. The message this global special operation sent to totalitarian forces, including China, was crystal clear and powerful, filled with hope for restoring world order and the courage to defend sovereignty. God alone is the true Sovereign who governs the entire world, and the leaders of this earth simply fulfill the roles and duties entrusted to them for this era. That is why I, too, rise at dawn today to record my deep reflections on my blog and start the day with vigor—so that I may faithfully fulfill my mission as a watchman from the place where I stand in life.
