Drum Barrel Nation

6.3 For the presidential by-election, I woke up earlier than usual and arrived at the polling station before 6 a.m., only to find that people were already lining up. Since many foreign nationals had voted using fake IDs during early voting, I brought my personal seal to verify my identity and protect my precious vote. After casting my ballot, I searched for a restaurant since it was too early in the morning for many places to be open, and was delighted to find a blood sausage soup restaurant that was open. On election day, the highest voter turnout in history participated, and many people likely voted with their own hopes in mind. Some may have voted believing that last year’s martial law was an act of rebellion, while others may have chosen a candidate who has lived honestly, hoping for a better Republic of Korea. However, this presidential election was not a vote for left or right, or for a particular candidate, but a war against anti-national forces.

There was already a ton of evidence of election fraud from the early voting, but during the main election, we saw how they messed with the settings to reduce the number of votes in real time. Also, for early voting outside the district, we saw a bold crime where millions of ballots were swapped out for fake ones through the post office, as explained by Kim Mi-young, the head of VON News. Under police control, a scene was captured of a Chinese language school bus entering the ballot counting site carrying ballot boxes. And this time, unlike in the 2022 presidential election, they did not make the mistake of counting the early voting ballots first to match the voter turnout rate. Even though candidate Hwang Kyo-ahn withdrew from the race the day before the election, they did not stamp the ballots with “withdrawn” and instead used the ballots that had already been prepared, seemingly learning well from the lessons of the past when Yoon Seok-yeol and Ahn Cheol-soo formed a single ticket.

The outcome of the election was predetermined from the outset, and they committed crimes against the people. As stated by Ambassador Morse Tan of the former Trump administration, who was a member of the international election observation team that visited South Korea, the National Election Commission was a criminal fraud organization. From the Election Commissioner Roh Tae-ak to the regional directors, to the frontline workers who secretly opened the envelopes at night and inserted the fake votes, the postal workers who sorted the fake votes in the postal workers’ union, and the couriers who delivered the boxes were all bought by dirty profits. Behind the scenes, the Dasan Group that rigged the elections, the lawyers who legally protected all of this injustice, and the black intellectuals like Baek Nakcheong and the corrupt journalist Cho Gab-je, were poisoning the minds of the people. They are attempting to create a nation resembling the ‘drum barrel’ that former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, who ran for president to root out electoral fraud, satirically showed when he recently declared the founding of his party.

Meanwhile, through General Yi Sun-sin’s War Diary, which I have been reading recently, I have been able to gradually sense the situation of war through his writings, which overlapped with the hybrid war with the CCP surrounding the South Korean presidential election. And while observing the exploits of a general and his daily life during the Imjin War, a national crisis, I saw similarities with the current situation in South Korea. Through the War Diary, I was moved by his upright character, his outstanding abilities as a general, and his keen insight into the intentions of the enemy commander. I also learned that one of the routine tasks he frequently performed was shooting arrows. Additionally, in the chaotic South Korea caused by anti-state forces, I wondered who could be a hero like Yi Sun-sin. Seeing politicians who prioritize their own power and greed over the lives of the people, I was reminded that corrupt officials still exist in this era. Nevertheless, I believe in God’s governance of the world and trust that He will restore South Korea, the only Christian nation in Asia, just as He restored the Israelite nation after they were taken captive to Babylon. And I resolved to do my utmost in the tasks entrusted to me, just as Admiral Yi Sun-sin shot arrows daily, and to become like the 200 leaders of the tribe of Issachar who understood the times.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
